Will my school or proctor detect this?
From the outside the typing unit is a TI-84 Plus. No external buttons, ports, lights or markings, and a rear shell with nothing added to it.
That said, no device is undetectable in every situation. Rooms that physically inspect calculators, X-ray bags or jam signals can flag any modified hardware, and a unit that cannot reach a network cannot answer anything. You take that risk yourself. Nothing on this site is a guarantee that you will not be caught.
How does it actually reach a model?
The unit joins your phone’s hotspot. Your prompt goes out to the provider from there and the answer comes back to the calculator display, so the phone stays in your pocket and is never touched during use.
The calculator also has a settings dashboard of its own, which is where the API key, the model and the saved hotspot live. How to reach it ships with the unit.
Which model answers?
Whichever one you choose. The unit is not tied to a single provider or a single model, and it can run the newest ones as they come out.
You pick it from the menu on the calculator, or from the settings page the unit serves on your network, and you can change it whenever you want.
Do I have to press some secret key combination?
No. Every key in the sequence has been on the TI-84 for twenty years, and the calculator does nothing a stock one would not do. The steps are in the section on starting the program.
How do I use it?
Turn your phone hotspot on, run the program from the PRGM menu, connect, and ask. It is a handful of keys and none of them are unusual.
Written instructions ship with the calculator, and the support bot in Discord will walk you through any part of it, including the first time setup and what to do after a battery change.
Is it new?
No. Units are bought secondhand, then modified. Which TI-84 Plus you get, what colour it is and how worn it looks all vary from unit to unit, because stock is whatever comes up secondhand.
Expect scuffs, button wear and faded printing. Cosmetic condition is not grounds for a refund or a replacement. If you want something that looks factory fresh, this is not it.
What if it arrives broken?
Report it within 7 days of delivery with your 8 digit identification number, which is emailed to you at purchase. It is an order reference, not a serial number on the calculator itself.
Every returned unit is inspected. If the fault is ours, a unit that will not power on, a broken screen, dead buttons, or a camera that does not work on the camera unit, we replace it. Damage from drops, water, your own modifications or general misuse is not covered, and there are no refunds. The full policy is on the refunds page.
Who pays for the AI usage?
You do. The price covers the hardware. What the unit spends talking to a model is billed to you, not to us.
Setup instructions ship with the calculator. If the billing details matter to you, ask before you buy, in Discord or by email, and a support member will walk you through it.
How do I get support?
Two ways. Open a ticket in Discord and a support member will pick it up, which is the faster of the two, and where shipping updates go. Or email help@cheatcalc.com, which is slower but works if you would rather not join a server.
Checkout asks for a Discord username and you can leave it blank. Giving it means we can reach you there about the order instead of waiting on email, which makes a return or a replacement a good deal quicker.
