Refunds & returns.

Read this carefully before you buy. Our policy is strict on purpose — modified hardware can't be resold, so we don't accept change-of-mind returns.
All sales are final
cheatcalc does not offer refunds for change of mind, dissatisfaction with the product, regret, no-longer-needed, switched-to-a-different-method, or any other discretionary reason.
Once your order has been placed and confirmed, your payment is non-refundable. This is the case whether the unit has shipped or not.
Why so strict? Each unit is custom-modified before it ships. Modified hardware can't be returned to inventory and resold, and a returned unit can't be reset to a saleable state. Pricing this in upfront keeps the base price lower for everyone who actually wants the product.
The units are not new
cheatcalc calculators are not brand-new from the factory. They are pre-owned TI-84 graphing calculators sourced from secondhand markets (eBay and similar), then modified before being shipped to you. By purchasing, you accept the unit in "used but functional" condition.
This means light scuffs, small cosmetic blemishes, button wear, faded printing, or other normal signs of prior use are expected and not grounds for a refund or replacement. We do not warrant that any unit will look cosmetically new on arrival. By buying, you take full responsibility for accepting the unit as a used-but-modified item.
Only failures that prevent the calculator from functioning as advertised (won't power on, screen broken, buttons non-responsive, camera variant's camera dead) qualify for the replacement process below.
Replacement for verified manufacturing defects
If your unit arrives with a clear manufacturing defect — for example, it does not power on, the screen is broken, buttons do not respond, or the camera variant's camera does not function — we may, at our sole discretion, offer a replacement (not a refund) under the following conditions:
- You report the defect to us via Discord or email within 7 calendar days of delivery;
- You provide your 8-digit order identification number (from your purchase email);
- You provide photo or video evidence of the defect on request;
- The unit has not been opened, modified, dropped, submerged, or otherwise damaged outside of normal use;
- You agree to return the unit to us at your expense before the replacement ships;
- You agree to cover return shipping costs and any customs/duties on the replacement, where applicable.
How returned units are inspected
Every returned unit is inspected by us before any decision is made.
- If the fault is determined to be ours (a defect introduced during our modification process, a component we installed that failed, or a DOA condition we shipped), we replace the unit at no further cost to you.
- If the fault is determined to be yours (drops, impact damage, liquid exposure, signs of customer-side opening or tampering, normal wear mistaken for a defect, or any damage we judge to have happened after delivery), no refund or replacement will be issued. The unit will be returned to you at your expense, or disposed of if you decline to pay return shipping.
Our inspection determination is final. By submitting a defect claim and shipping the unit back, you agree to accept the result of our inspection.
What is not covered
- Damage from drops, impacts, liquid exposure, extreme heat or cold;
- Damage from opening the case or attempting any modification;
- Wear and tear, scuffs, scratches, button wear from normal use;
- Pre-existing cosmetic blemishes from the unit's prior life as a used calculator (these are expected — see "The units are not new" above);
- Issues caused by third-party services going down (OpenAI outages, your home internet, cellular network);
- Failure of AI output to be correct, useful, or in the form you expected;
- Inability to use the product in a particular environment (proctored exam, classroom, workplace) — see the Terms of Service;
- Lost or stolen packages once tracking shows delivery — file a claim with the carrier.
How to file a defect claim
- Locate your 8-digit order identification number.It was emailed to you immediately after purchase. Search your inbox for "cheatcalc — identification number".
- Contact us within 7 days of delivery.Discord (linked in the footer) is fastest. Include your identification number and a description of the issue.
- Send photo or video evidence.Show the defect clearly. We may ask follow-up questions to confirm.
- If approved, ship the unit back.We'll provide a return address. You pay the shipping. We confirm receipt before sending the replacement.
- Replacement ships within 5 business days of receipt.Same model, same configuration. Your original order identification number remains tied to your order.
Lost in transit
If tracking shows the package was shipped but never delivered, and the carrier confirms it as lost (not just delayed), we will replace the unit at no charge. If tracking shows delivery but you didn't receive it (porch theft, mis-delivery), you'll need to file a claim with the carrier — we cannot replace packages marked delivered.
International orders
Customs duties, import taxes, and brokerage fees are your responsibility and are non-refundable in any scenario. If a package is rejected by customs or refused on delivery, no replacement or refund will be issued.
Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback before contacting us first will be treated as a breach of our Terms of Service. Please reach out via Discord or email so we can resolve the issue directly. We respond fast.
